To begin with, be very careful with your personal belongings when you are in this vicinity of the Skinners Arms. Two tourist couples had their phones taken whilst using their maps near the pub, when we were having lunch there. The staff of the pub were very helpful to these couples, going out of their way to give chase but the thief was long gone on his motorcycle and nothing much could be done.
We had lunch here, and the food was nothing to write home about. The chicken wings were OK, the calamari rings mostly batter, and the pie eatable. The beer were fine as well, but again nothing special, as much better variety with good quality can be found at the nearby Euston Tap. Combining the two, we did not find enough reason to come back despite having stayed for over a week in a hotel nearby.
The setting was good, however, as the photos with this review shows, this feels like a rather traditional pub. If you desperately need some food and/or beer at a comfortable pub, this could be the place. However, if you look for good food, you’d better move on.
