EE-Usk is a small seafood restaurant on the shore of Oban, right on the North Pier. The view was supposed to be great, but a giant yacht was moored at the pier on the day and no view could be seen.
Had the lunch set which included fried brie as appetizer and the fish and chips as main. The bread that first came was quite bad, to the extent that you’ll only bother with it because you’re hungry and it’s there. The fried brie was decidedly average – edible but that’s about it.
The fish and chips was actually half-decent. The fish was properly fried, albeit with a giant lump of deep fried batter to the side (skin, perhaps?). The chips were not actually chips, but more like small potato blocks deep fried.
Service was slow as the front of house was understaffed. Took quite a while for us to get the bill.
For the price, this is not a bad place for a quick lunch. There should be better options in the town, although we did not have the chance to explore.
