Ramen Nagi: Great ramen. Gyoza also decent.

Stumbled upon this ramen restaurant when I was trying to find lunch in the malls in this area. Ramen Nagi is one of the many restaurants facing the park of the Greenbelt malls and is not difficult to find. Did not have to wait, either, when I visited for lunch.

Service here was sufficiently quick, and I benefited from being here really late for lunch.  From the look outside there would have been a long line had I been here an hour earlier.  Also, despite this being 3 p.m., the restaurant was still quite full.  Service was still reasonably quick.

I did not know what to expect as I’ve never had ramen in Philippines before. Turned out that it was of great quality. The noodles were cooked just right, not too soggy and with a slight bite to it – al dente like good spaghetti, but of course the ramen here is not Italian! The broth was full bodied and rich. The egg was slightly overcooked as the yolk partially lost the jelly-like quality of a well made ajitsuke tamago, but otherwise was good as well.

The gyoza were less impressive, but still delicious. If I ever stay at Makati again in the future, I’ll know where to find a quick and delicious lunch.
