To begin with, Novotel Shanghai Atlantis is not an expensive hotel. For the price in Shanghai (Pudong, no less) it is difficult to complain, but there are areas that can see improvements. Anyway:
1) The hotel has a 24h restaurant on the 2nd floor, with both buffet and a la carte options. Didn’t try the buffet but the Hainanese chicken rice was good enough for the price.
2) The lobby of the hotel felt rather empty and almost like a business tower, but the rooms felt much better. The slippers were comfortable and whilst the room was a bit small, it was sufficient.
3) Bed was not very comfortable, though. There were too many layers of padding and the bed was way too soft as a result. The staff also didn’t make the bed properly and the sheets kept coming out on one side. Pillows were also way too soft.
4) Location was supposed to be good, but because of metro work along one of the main roads for Pudong, traffic was bad at times. It is however not difficult to get a taxi here.
Not sure if I’ll stay at Novotel Shanghai Atlantis Hotel again.
